The depicted icon is inspired by an Avalokiteshavara sculpture in the 13 Century AD discovered at Mueang Sing Temple. The Bodhisattva sculpture depicts the influence of Mahayana-Vajrayana Buddhism in ancient Thailand; the genuine one is displayed in Bangkok National Museum, Bangkok.
