Phanom Rung Historical Park and Prasat Mueang Tam, Buriram Province

The depicted icon is inspired by eight-petaled lotus-shaped gold sheets discovered both in the garment-changing pavilion at Prasat Phanom Rung and in the central hall that is situated backwards to the back porch in the west of the Gopura building of Prasat Mueang Tam. The eight-petaled lotus symbolizes the eight directions and purity that could bring auspiciousness to whoever came there to worship the gods. The lotus-like gold sheets, at present, are displayed in Phimai National Museum, Nakhon Ratchasima Province.
