The depicted icon is inspired by Ho Nang Usa Tower, a natural stone tower engraved by men for utility before being established as a Buddhist place of worship by lifting boundary-marker posts, the lotus-petaled-shaped stones called Bai Sema, to surround the sacred area during Dvaravati Era in the 7th-11th Century AD. The placename is derived from a local legend – The Tragic Love Story of Princess Usa and King Barot, which narrates that King Kong Phan, the foster father of Princess Usa the heroine, constructed a sky-high tower to hide her away from all males.
